Wine Tales...
Yesterday saw a bunch of us at work set off on a vineyard and winery tour, complete with the tasting of different kinds of wines! The vineyard was at about an hour and a half's drive from our workplace. Many
other vineyards dotted the length of the road for many a mile before reaching Grover Wines, our destination! Our guide was a very obliging, young, French guy, who not only explained quite a lot about the winemaking process and the like, but also introduced us to a delectable line of in house wines! Although the vineyards were a veritable ground for amazing pictures, we weren't allowed to click any photographs inside the winery, which was a shame, considering the huge cylindrical vaults that filled an entire room! They also had a barrel room that was stocked with countless barrels, each humungous, with the capacity to hold about 225 litres of wine! We even witnessed the filling and packaging of wine bottles. All the rooms were filled with an annoyingly pungent odour, nothing close to anything I've ever experienced!
