Dubai Chronicles - Part 6a

The place that we next visited was the Dubai Zoo. I'd rather we let animals be in their natural surroundings, than in the claustrophobic cages that the zoo seemed to be full of! The bars of the cages were so close together that we could barely spot the poor animals/birds through the camera lens! Rest assured, not a favourite place of mine!
Nevertheless, here are some pictures from the visit:

The big cats were all fast asleep because of the heat!

This big fella was a total entertainer and crowd puller. He seemed to quite enjoy being photographed! He even displayed his swinging skills!

As a kid, like most other kids I guess (if I may say so!), I liked going to zoos too. It's only later that I started feeling sorry for the poor animals. Looks like you grew up a lot faster! :-)

hmm I dont like zoos either but, I did like the animal kingdom @ disney in florida cuz the animals were allowed to be loose in a large natural habitats.. the downside.. i took a tour and saw some of the backend of the functioning and the cages

the animals looks pretty sad in those cages... i think they should do a renovations of sorts, make the zoo more of an open concept! Think zoos of the world now r into that practise, no more cages... but lovely photos anyways = )

Exactly, mush! It'd be so much better if the animals were given wide open spaces to roam around in...
