Mysore
These are pictures from our last weekend's trip to Mysore:
Tipu Sultan's summer palace (Srirangapatna: en route to Mysore): our first halt
The inside of the palace was sadly in disarray.
Then followed his fort (a major part in ruins now) and the spot where his body was found!
This was followed by a stopover at the famed Sri Ranganathaswamy temple (Srirangapatna).
Next, we visited the beautiful St. Philomena's church in Mysore.
Our bus then wound its way up Chamundi hills, providing not only a breathtaking view of the whole of Mysore, but also a stopover at the famous temple of the Goddess Chamundeshwari (Durga), located right atop the hills!
Okay, now that's a lot of pictures for one day! More to come in a day or two!

nice shots.. i remember going there as a child... i went to the palace in bangalore.. what a tragic waste.. india isnt built for wooden palaces
Thanks, aditi... Not only is India not built for wooden palaces, many of our heritage structures don't even seem to be cared for properly!
Wow SuperN! Gorgeous pictures! Very nice place to visit too, looking forward for more = ) Hv a superb weekend babe ;)
Nice Shots, Compared to other cities thats going through with their "IT BOOM", Mysore is pretty laid back and very refreshing
Waiting for the other pics.
Thanks for the pictorial trip!

Thanks, mush! Hope you too had a rollicking weekend! :-)
Well, to an extent, you're right, bg! However, Mysore also boasts of being the host to one of the best IT companies in India!
More coming up in a bit, shankari!
Thanks, idah!
Haha... Yeah, the monday morning blues strike yet again, only to be closely followed by the midweek crisis! :-)
Nice pics! Did you go see the Queen's bath? I forget what the location was called. It was a dilapidated set of torn down ruins. But the Queen's bath was sooooo huge that Ms Ditcher and I jumped into it and were chasing each other like fools :-P
Thanks, miss iyer!
Nope, didn't see the queen's bath in Mysore. Though, I distinctly remember doing something similarly foolish in the queen's bath in Hampi; don't you?!? :-)
